Beach days are fun for everyone. Summer isn't complete without a few trips to the beach to beat the heat and enjoy the waves. Sunbathing is another popular thing to do at the beach. Every year, millions of people lie down and soak up the sun to get a deep, golden tan.

Even stranger is that we still can't tell the difference between a good tan and a sunburn. Yes, you're right. Every year, a lot of people who try to get a tan end up in the hospital because they got badly burned. Our skin is a delicate organ that needs to be taken care of carefully before being exposed to direct sunlight.

Also, research shows that the color of your skin has a big effect on whether you get a tan or a sunburn. The easier and faster it is to get a tan, the lighter your skin is. This is because of a hormone called melanin, which makes our hair, eyes, and skin the color they are. Since UV rays from the sun are bad for our skin, getting a tan is never safe.

Here are five easy things you can do to keep from getting a tan or a sunburn.

1- Use Sunscreen

You can't say enough about how important it is to wear sunscreen every day. Experts say that a good sunscreen has an SPF of 30 or more and protects against both harmful UVA and UVB rays.

No matter what the weather is like, put a lot of sunscreen on any parts of your body that aren't covered by clothes. Even if you're not going anywhere, put on sunscreen and reapply as needed.

2-Use blinds

Use anything that will keep the sun off of you, like a big floppy hat, gloves, sunglasses, or even an umbrella. Your skin won't get a tan if you use these helpful tools.

Sunburns and tans happen so quickly that you hardly notice. Even if you only stay out in the sun for a few minutes, you might get a deep tan that lasts all summer. Do what you can to avoid the bad things that can happen when you get a tan.

3- Avoid Peak Hours

Even though it may seem strange, try not to go outside between 10 am and 4 pm, when the sun's rays are at their strongest. You must, however, go outside early in the morning to soak up the first rays of sunlight, which are full of Vitamin D and help our bones grow stronger.

If we stay out of the sun during peak hours, our bodies don't get as much of a tan, which makes it less harmful. Get a UV-blocking film for your windshield if you drive so that your hands don't get sunburned too. You could also wear driver's gloves instead of doing that.

4- Cover Up

If you don't want to get a tan, you might want to wear dark-colored clothes. You could even think about buying clothes with more UV protection (UPF).

No matter what the weather is like, choose tightly woven clothes over lightweight ones to protect your skin from the sun. You can avoid getting a sunburn if you put in a little extra effort when getting dressed for the day.

5-Surfaces that reflect light

UV light is able to reflect off of many different things, including concrete, glass, and even sand. The reflected radiation is much more dangerous than direct radiation, so you must protect your body, especially your eyes.

If you look directly at the sun, you might even lose your sight. So, when you go outside in the sun, you need to take the right safety steps.
